Course Description

As attorneys, we are regularly exposed to stress and trauma in the practice of many areas of law.  This course explores the symptoms of stress and trauma and includes physical and mental self-regulation techniques that can help manage stress and trauma and help to practice active mindfulness.

This course includes video recorded from the Washington County Bar Association's 2021 Winter Bench Bar.

Axom Education will no longer be offering online CLE courses after the December 31st, 2022 compliance deadline.  Any courses purchased from October 15th, 2022 through December 31st, 2022 must be completed by January 10th, 2023 to receive CLE credit.

CLE Credit:

This course contains approximately 60 minutes of content, all of which is required for course completion.

Your certificate of completion will be issued automatically after all elements of the course have been viewed/completed.  Credits will be reported to the CLE Board within 30 days of your completion of the course and your completion date will be reported as the day on which you actually finished the course.

Minimum System Requirements:

This course includes downloads of PDF documents (Portable Document Format) and streaming video. Viewing the documents will require Adobe Acrobat Reader or other PDF viewing software.  Adobe Acrobat Reader is available for free from the Adobe website.

The video player will run on Mac OS, Windows and Linux as well as most mobile devices and tablets on any browser that supports Adobe Flash and/or HTML5.  Supported browsers include Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer 9,10,11, and Microsoft Edge.  Internet Explorer 8 is not supported on Windows XP for security reasons, but is supported on Windows 7 or higher operating systems.

An internet connection with a minimum speed of 768 kilobits per second is required.  At least 5MB/sec is recommended to stream video in full HD quality.  Please note that the video player may downgrade the quality of the video to accommodate lower connection speeds.

    Alexandra Milspaw, Ph.D, M.Ed., LPC

    Dr. Alexandra Milspaw has been practicing counseling and providing educational seminars and trainings for over 10 years. She is available for professional consultations and trainings, Expert Testimony, and experiential workshops that address chronic pain, trauma, pelvic, sexual and genital pain disorders.

    Dr. Milspaw serves on the faculty of the Clinical Foundations Training Course for the International Pelvic Pain Society ( and is Co-Chair of the Clinical Foundations Course for the 2019 and 2020 conference. Dr. Milspaw is an AASECT-Certified Sex Therapist and licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania. She earned her Masters of Education in Counseling Psychology and Human Services from Lehigh University and earned her Ph.D. in the clinical practice of Human Sexuality from Widener University. Dr. Milspaw is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), Certified Master NLP Practitioner, Certified Consulting Hypnotist and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Trainer and Consultant. She specializes in relaxation and stress management as well as chronic pain and trauma. Dr. Milspaw is a professional presenter for sexuality and reproductive health education for local colleges, community agencies, and national conferences. She works with a variety of clients, including those coping with chronic pelvic and sexual pain in an effort to reduce pain and associated emotional and psychological stressors. She also has experience working with the LGBTQIA population, including those in transition. Sexuality encompasses all that you are and how you relate to the world around you. Dr. Milspaw is a co-founder of the Alliance for Pelvic Pain and co-facilitates the Pelvic Messenger blogtalk radio. Dr. Milspaw is also a sex therapist within the 4-D Wheel Network ( Dr. Milspaw was the Executive Director of the Institute for Women In Pain from 2011-2013 – a group of independent, like-minded health care practitioners in the Lehigh Valley who are available for consultation for women seeking help for a variety of chronic pain disorders.

    Professional Memberships include: American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT); American Counseling Association; International Pelvic Pain Society; National Guild of Hypnotists; National Federation of Neurolinguistic Programming; International Association of Trauma Professionals.
