Course Description

An overview of cryptocurrency and considerations for attorneys in their practice.  Topics include:

  • The history of cryptocurrency
  • The cryptocurrency market right now
  • What is crypto and how does it work?
  • Tax implications
  • Client issues and examples

This course includes video recorded from a live Washington County Bar Association CLE that was offered via Zoom in the spring of 2021.

Course Deadline Notice:

Axom Education will no longer be offering online CLE courses after the December 31st, 2022 compliance deadline.  Any courses purchased from October 15th, 2022 through December 31st, 2022 must be completed by January 10th, 2023 to receive CLE credit.

CLE Credit:

1.0 PA Substantive CLE

This course contains approximately 60 minutes of content, all of which is required for course completion.

Your certificate of completion will be issued automatically after all elements of the course have been viewed/completed.  Credits will be reported to the CLE Board within 30 days of your completion of the course and your completion date will be reported as the day on which you actually finished the course.

Minimum System Requirements:

This course includes downloads of PDF documents (Portable Document Format) and streaming video. Viewing the documents will require Adobe Acrobat Reader or other PDF viewing software.  Adobe Acrobat Reader is available for free from the Adobe website.

The video player will run on Mac OS, Windows and Linux as well as most mobile devices and tablets on any browser that supports Adobe Flash and/or HTML5.  Supported browsers include Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer 9,10,11, and Microsoft Edge.  Internet Explorer 8 is not supported on Windows XP for security reasons, but is supported on Windows 7 or higher operating systems.

An internet connection with a minimum speed of 768 kilobits per second is required.  At least 5MB/sec is recommended to stream video in full HD quality.  Please note that the video player may downgrade the quality of the video to accommodate lower connection speeds.

    Joshua Stein and Joseph Piszczor

    Joshua R. Stein, CFP, CRPC was inspired to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional because of his desire to create a lasting impact on people’s lives. He started his career in 2005 and since then has committed himself to serving as a trusted advisor for his clients and their families. Stein Wealth Advisors was founded in 2008 by Josh and his wife Melissa. Prior to the formation of SWA, Josh served as a leader within several large financial services firms, acting as the registered principal and supervising other financial advisors. Josh earned multiple awards, including an Outstanding Leader Award from Ameriprise Financial and a President’s Citation from Prudential Financial. Josh graduated with honors from The University of Pittsburgh. He also completed the Duquesne University School of Leadership curriculum, earning an Executive Certificate in Financial Planning. He earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Certification (CFP®) from the CFP Board and his Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor designation (CRPC®) from the College for Financial Planning. Josh is a committed community business leader. He has been a featured speaker at many businesses in the Pittsburgh area, providing corporate seminars that cover retirement planning and employee benefits. Josh lives in McMurray, with his wife, Melissa, and their three children, Jackson, Elle, and Elijah. Josh has a passion for horology, photography, guitar, and chess.

    Joseph M. Piszczor, CFP took an interest in finance from a young age, after being gifted a few shares of stock from his family. His interest in investing grew and eventually led Joe to a career as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™. After graduating from Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA with a bachelor’s degree in business management, Joe began his career in financial services in 2006. He joined a major financial services firm, where he worked closely with Josh and Melissa for several years and grew a successful financial practice. This led him to join Stein Wealth Advisors in 2020. Joe has a strong passion for serving his community, and volunteers for many local organizations. Joe lives in Houston, PA with his wife, Kate, and their dog, Buddy. They enjoy traveling together to both the beach and National Parks. Outdoor activities and cooking are among Joe’s favorite activities.
